Welcome to the Regional
Instruction Coordinator's page!
The Regional Instruction Coordinator (RIC) is a liaison between the Instruction Council and the region. The RIC disseminates policies and programs to the local clubs. The RIC is appointed annually by the RS and maintains a close working relationship with the RS. The responsibilities of the RIC include working with RS to identify individual club instructional needs, assisting the DCs in recognizing and implementing appropriate, effective mounted and unmounted instructional programs, offering suggestions for enrichment of club and regional instruction programs as well as disseminating information regarding effective instruction programs. The RIC will be available to advise (when asked) the clubs and the region on prep clinics, ratings and rally preparation, as well as maintaining the appropriate records and resource lists. (Source RS handbook page 9, USPC forms page). As the new RIC I will introduce myself!! I am a graduate “A”, Level I National Examiner, North Country Horsemasters Liaison and a JT DC of North Country PC. I do UL prep clinics as we all as teach regularly for NCPC at all levels. I have competed through the Preliminary 3 Day level, did the Area I Junior National training and even ride western occasionally! I ran a comprehensive (pony club based) summer riding program with as many as 40 students and 70 horses for many years as well as organized three annual combined training events each of those years doing all the course design. I currently ride for pleasure and plan on taking lessons for improvement and fun!! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
